Brexit dominates AEJ congress November 2016

Perhaps unsurprisingly the issue of Brexit was on every delegate’s mind at the AEJ’s 2016 Congress in Kilkenny in southeastern Ireland on 4 –6 November – and in reporting of the event.

And it was certainly on the lips of Richard Pym as the state-owned Allied Irish Bank (AIB) chairman launched a blistering attack on Brexit.

The congress debated Brexit and the rise of demagoguery, the threat to journalism in a brave new media world, and talk of a so-called `post-truth era’, under the overall theme of `The changing face of Europe and its media’.
