Ukraine invasion will have biggest strategic impact in 30 years

Russia’s invasion of Ukraine will have larger and longer strategic impacts than the 2001 Al Quaeda 9/11 attacks in the USA, says Ed Arnold.

It will change European security more than any other event since the end of the Cold War, said the research fellow for European security at the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) speaking to the AEJ UK on May 11.

Arnold is a former infantry officer in the British Army with a career including deployments to Afghanistan, East Africa and the Supreme Headquarters Allied Powers Europe (SHAPE) during the 2014 Ukraine crisis.
He has a particular interest in UK national security strategy and strategic defence and his experience covers defence, intelligence, counter-terrorism and counter-insurgency, in both the public and private sectors.
