Ukraine-related events

The AEJ noted two separate online events related to the conflict over Ukraine.

In Athens on Thursday Feb. 24 a number of experts examined challenges for NATO and hybrid warfare threats on the eastern flank of Europe. The event was organized by the Research Institute for European and American Studies (RIEAS) together with the embassies of Poland and Lithuania in Athens.

Dr. Anna Dyner, the Polish Institute of International Affairs, Analyst of Belarus and Security Policy of the Russian Federation – (Belarus, disinformation and migration threats)
Justinas Kulys, Eastern Europe Studies Centre, Lithuania, Project Manager and Policy Analyst – (hybrid threats for the Baltic States)
Krzysztof Nieczypor, the Centre for Eastern Studies, Poland, Analyst of Ukrainian Affairs – (Ukraine between Russia and the West)

And on Friday Feb. 25 AEJ Bulgaria hosted an event on the struggle against misinformation. The event was jointly organized by AEJ Bulgaria with the U.S. embassy in Bulgaria.
The speaker was Christine Lord, president and CEO of the International Research and Exchanges Board (IREX), a non-profit organization specializing in education and social development. Lord’s work is focused on strengthening the role of institutions, supporting young people and combating misinformation. She is actively involved in the Learn to Discern program for global opposition to misinformation and misinformation.
