How to improve the poor state of relations between the UK and Europe and the countries of the Global South?
Relations that are more important than ever at a time when the basic principles of post Second World War international relations such as respect for international borders are being challenged by the “unlimited” partnership of Russia and China and the policies of the Trump administration.
On March 19 the AEJ UK will host a meeting from 12.30 to 13.30 with Baroness Valerie Amos, Master of University College Oxford, to discuss these issues.
Valerie Amos was United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs and Emergency Relief Coordinator from 2010 to 2015 as well as previously a member of the UK cabinet, Leader of the House of Lords from 2003 to 2007, and High Commissioner to Australia from 2007 to 2010.
